Catholicism 201 Course – Starting 11 January 2019
You may be considering becoming a Catholic or wanting to learn more about the foundations of Catholic faith, so that you can share yours with others more effectively. A small group has been meeting weekly Fridays 7PM. We share faith, fellowship, and food, with freedom fully to express your concerns, questions and views.
We are about to start a new course – Catholicism 201 – that covers the Catholic Church, the Seven Sacraments, Mary and the Saints, and Catholic Moral and Social Teaching. It is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a personal copy of which is required for the course.
While we consider New Year's resolutions, please prayerfully consider if one you could make would be to deepen and strengthen your faith and that of others who are new to the faith by joining us for this course.

This weekend at St. Anne's is called "Service Sunday." It is a time when all parishioners are asked to consider participating in one of the Church's ministries as a volunteer.
Volunteer opportunities range from once a year (Parish Barbeque), to 3-4 times a school-year serving coffee and baked goods between masses (Hospitality Committee), to 2-3 Friday mornings a month getting the Chapel ready for Liturgies (Beautification Committee), to several times a year at times we are already in mass (Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes, Readers, one of two Choirs, Ushers, & Greeters), to every school-session Sunday (Sunday School / CCD Teachers).
The sign-up sheets will be in the back of the Church after Mass.
Please reference the separate sheet accompanying this week's Bulletin that speaks more in detail about each Ministry that is seeking volunteers.
The Acolyte Ministry is seeking new members to join a dedicated group of altar servers. You must be at least ten years old and have received your First Holy Communion. If you are interested, please email AhYoung Chi at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Training will take place in September and you will begin your new service in October! If you are a current acolyte and have not received an email from AhYoung regarding your September availability, please send her an email as soon as you can.
We have very limited Sunday car parking space at St Stephen's College this year and if you wish to apply, please contact our parish secretary, Esther. The application deadline will be by end of August.

Taizé, the community known for their meditative chants, will be holding its International Youth Meeting in Hong Kong from Wednesday 8th to Sunday 12th August. The meeting is entitled Pilgrimage of Trust and Reconciliation.
Young people from 18-35, sometimes in groups, will descend on Hong Kong from afar. They are coming for 5 days of praying with songs, workshops and a silent retreat. Every day in the morning, there will be meetings in churches of different denominations. The midday and evening prayers will be in either the Catholic Cathedral or St John's Cathedral (Anglican).
Taizé Hong Kong is looking for families to host these young people. Each person will bring a sleeping bag and all a family needs to offer is space and breakfast every morning. A bed is welcomed but not necessary. A host family may host one person, or more. The diocese is hoping that St Anne's can host 15 people.
